I've noticed that almost every time I see video of concert footage I almost never see the crowd repeating the lyrics or filling in for the MC. Yes, people might come to your show, but they don't know any of the lyrics to any of your songs by heart. Only legendary artists with legendary songs, or catchy songs, or songs that have had actual regular rotation or radio play are the ones that get repeated by the crowd. There seems to be a move towards the death of crowd participation. Another thing I noticed is that when the MC asks the crowd to put their hands in the air or to put their lighters up, they are usually met with a blank stare or criticism. WTF is happening here???
