As you know, for over 2 years I've been standing behind Lonnie Mac. Here are some key points about him you should know:
His big brother is DJ Taz, The Dirty South Bass Legend who dropped the ATL classic “That's Right” in 1997. Taz' track record in the industry is extensive, google him.
He was signed to AMG (Aphilliates Music Group) about a year ago with an already established distribution deal through Asylum Records.
He has worked with some heavyweights in preparation for his commercial solo debut including T.I., Gucci Mane, La The Darkman, Yo Gotti, DJ Drama, Willie the Kid, O.J. The Juiceman, etc.
He appeared on Makell Bird's Maktown Radio 1 mixtape and several other mixtapes.
Before signing with AMG, he ran an independent label called World Cake Ent. alongside Match 'Em Up Shawty.
His performing name has been spelled 3 different ways: Loney Mac, Lonnie Mack, and Lonnie Mac. A pun on his name Lonnie McIntosh.
I've been working alongside DJ Taz since 2000 and in turn have had the chance to work with Lonnie to some degree. So, I feel it's my duty to warn you all that the kid is about to blow. Don't say I didn't warn ya ;)
Here are some videos of Lonnie's in-studio sessions with DJ Drama, U-N-I Can Make It Happen, Universal (the rapper, not the label), and Yo Gotti to wet your appetites:
