CDs worth copping: Count Basic - The Remix Hit Collection

Apparently, Peter Legat is the Suge Knight of electronica. I'm not saying that in the sense of gangsterism. I'm saying that because, much like Knight did with his Death Row Records' catalog, Mr. Legat is choosing to release unnecessary compilations in an effort to make his pockets deeper. Case in point: Count Basic: The Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister Remixes. It is nothing more than a stripped down version of an earlier compilation entitled The Remix Hit Collection, originally released in 1996 in Austria. The latter, of course, containing only the remixes while the former contained 13 tracks, combining original hits with all the remixes produced by Kruder and Dorfmeister (abbreviated as K&D). So, I suggest if you had to choose between the 2, go with The Remix Hit Collection.

A Taste of Vegas RNB: D Harmoney

I literally met this kid in a Wal-Mart parking lot on the NE side of Las Vegas. He was selling copies of his demo sampler and hooked me up with one. The packaging was a bit crude. It was an unlabeled CD-R in a red CD envelope with no tracklist or covers. However, his vocals (on the CD) were quite nice. I gave him a call and he's a pretty humble dude. An army brat originally born in Germany, he's been in Vegas since 2005. A self-proclaimed singer since birth, he's been producing his own music since 10th grade. So, here's a copy of that demo sampler. If you like what you hear, feel free to call D Harmoney @ 702-371-2547

So, as you can see, I put in major work in 2007! A slew of other honorable mentions including well over 25 features in print and on the web. I was also voted as, and maintained, the position of Artist of the Year on an imeem poll for most of the latter half of 2008. I also managed to creat my own distribution for my mixtapes and dumped the sites I felt were bullshit like datpiff.
